The doctoral study titled “The Effect of Mobile-Assisted Exercise Training and Ergonomic Adjustment on Pain, Sleep, and Work Quality in Academicians” has been completed, proving that MoovBuddy is more effective than traditional exercise methods!
Completed in March 2024 at Istanbul Gedik University under the leadership of Menşure Canpolat, PT, DPT this research used MoovBuddy as a mobile-supported exercise training tool.
Study Overview
The research was conducted with 96 voluntary academic participants between March and August 2023. Participants were divided into three groups:
- 32 participants used MoovBuddy,
- 32 participants followed a traditional exercise prescription via a printed guide,
- 32 participants were in the control group.
Participants in both the MoovBuddy and printed guide groups were required to perform exercises at least three times per week for 12 weeks.
At the beginning and end of the study, pain levels, sleep quality, and work quality of the participants were measured, and the changes were analyzed.
Key Findings
- Pain Reduction: The MoovBuddy group showed a more significant improvement in pain levels.
- Sleep Quality: Participants using MoovBuddy experienced notable enhancements in sleep quality.
- Work Performance & Satisfaction:
- MoovBuddy users reported improvements in both general work functionality and physical work performance.
- Productivity, mental well-being, and social satisfaction at work increased significantly.
Compared to traditional exercise methods, MoovBuddy’s positive effects were more pronounced. We believe that the app’s reminder notifications played a crucial role in encouraging users to exercise regularly.
User Engagement
- 72% of MoovBuddy users exercised at least three times per week or more.
- 90% of users exercised at least twice per week or more.
Conclusion
This study highlights that MoovBuddy is a superior and preferred method for improving health—especially for desk workers.
